A Great Finish to a Terrible Morning

I had a terrible tutorial session on Monday. T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E!!!! And I do NOT wish to discuss the awfulness of it, so I’ll fast forward the day to the enjoyable part of it.
What was fun about the day?
1. Getting 50% off on salmon!!!! Original price per kg for a Tasmanian Salmon Fish was $26. After discount it was $13!!! Of course I didn’t take the full one kg worth of fish. Just two fillets which was about 400g or so. Happy!!! Of course the interesting part came after that… removing the fish scales.
It was my first time removing the scales, so it would be apparent that I would spend more time de-scaling my fish. Hence, I needed to get into a comfortable position… FAST!

2. Afterwards, my semangat kicked back in, and guess what I did...
A cake, as sinful as it is.
It was originally intended to be a pure basic butter cake. However, there was another woman who was a great supporter of sinful food, rallied for sinful stuff to be added into an already sinfulicious food. Half of the cake was mixed with nutella and milo! However, as both of the sinful stuff are expensive, not a lot was added into it. We ended up finishing more than half of the cake that night itself. While dipping it in yoghurt… yum yum yum.
3. Oh, and while I started baking my cake… this is a pictorial of what not to do when stir-frying pak choy =D.

1. Pumpkin Pie
Haven’t been baking a lot since I have to babysit some fella. However, I managed to attempt something new this week. I love the texture of the pie – very gelato kind of texture. But, to be completely truthful, I don’t really like the taste of pumpkin. Still, it was nice. Maybe next time I should substitute pumpkin with banana or something with that sort of soft texture. Then maybe I can enjoy this pie to the fullest. This pie finished in about a day plus – so I guess it can be counted as a success =D!
2. Angel
Crochet-ed an angel – or so it’s supposed to be. It would look more angelic if I had the proper colour and thickness used for the yarn. But…. WHAT TO DO…. if you have a spend-as-little-as-you-can mentality like I have. Plus, the fact that BP only provides the luxury of choosing from one brand =). Still, I think it turned out pretty good nevertheless. My sister is booking this one already.
3. Have you seen the new Volkswagen Beetle???????? It’s a convertible!!!!! *drools* I TOTALLY HEART IT!!!
Such a cutie – not that I’ll ever get around to buying it but, a girl can always fantasize. Haha!

As I’m writing this post, picture me hanging my head down and shaking it from side to side. What my 10-week-old puppy is lacking are some balls. Haih… MAN-UP DUDE! But it’s SOOOOOOOOOOO funny watching him ‘atack’ those things. He’ll lift his paw up a few times as though he’s trying to hit them. But, how the heck do you attack them when you are so far away?? Plus, he’ll always move in a circle around them without getting close to it. Haha!!
5. Have you guys seen Glee? I have only recently started watching it and I must say, their cover of some of the songs are even better than the original. I especially love their cover of ‘Endless Love’
6. Do you know that applying for a student visa is such a pain in the ass?!?

What a day! The sun shone as brightly as it could in the morning, and the rain poured as hard as it could in the afternoon. But that was not enough to dampen the spirit and ‘importance’ of the day! Haha. It started with a note in the middle of my final lecture of the semester…

I know I should be a tincy bit more grown-up and less fan girly. But MIcky’s wishing me ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!’ LOL. NPS got so jealous and wanted one with Changmin on it. FAT HOPES! HAH!
Snowflakes, a Taiwanese dessert shop, was where the ‘secret admirers’ brought me.
I wasn’t expecting anything, so when Pingu came in with a big paper bag, I didn’t think that it had anything to do with me but…… it did=)!

I had a GREAT time! Thank you (in alphabetical order: Aqilah, Eva, Navjit, Reesh and Sarah) so ooo ooo ooo much!! This twenTEEN year-old enjoyed herself!!
My camera failed me for the rest of the day, so no fine dining (with family) photos at all…
Had a satisfying dinner at JWW Marriot… Parking there cost 6 bucks!! The ‘steeeeewpidest’ thing was we put in RM10 into the machine, it came out with 8 50 cents coins. Cit!
Oh… I ate duck liver and some kind of clam that is apparently more expensive than abalone. Ladies and gentlemen… announcement time… I prefer my duck meat and abalone =). Twas a 5 course set meal… I would think that a 3 course meal would be sufficient cz I was stuffed!
Thank you everybody for making this birthday really memorable. I do not have the time to reply each and every one of your wishes via facebook or sms due to some internet connection problems and time issues, but make note that I really do appreciate it a whole bunch!
PS: I’ll try to make sure that I remember all of your birthdays for a start =).

Rebecca Ng made a beanie!! 1st time effort… hence, it would be nice if you would overlook the little little imperfections of this beanie =).
Since I’m on a roll… I attempted to crochet this flower. The beanie and flower are purple coz……… surprise, surprise… I’m out of yarn =( and purple is all I have left.
That’s basically why I’m not knitting at the moment (lack of proper yarn). Have to scout around for them as I have a project in mind already!!

It looks nicer when you see it at my piano rather than in the photo though... will try to take another picture.
I played the piano today.... and after 13 years of piano lessons.... I have slacked a lot due to my commitment to being in college and uni without a piano and it totally showed in my playing. Finger muscles no longer there.... I don't even have the light touch that I used to have and my control is wavering!!! Oh dear!!! It's depressing!!! I'm still thankful that my side reading skills still exist... 13 years of piano lessons.... and just 2 years of slacking and this is what happens?!? Haih... I'm depressed despite having food.
