Tatting
Tuesday, January 19, 2010

Have you ever heard of a thing called tatting? Well, I certainly haven’t. It just so happened that one day (today that is) I browsed through a baking blog which led me to a crochet blog which included something called tatting. tat

Tatting is a technique for handcrafting a particularly durable lace constructed by a series of knots and loops. Tatting can be used to make lace edging as well as doilies, collars, and other decorative pieces.

Looking at the finished products makes me want to try this form of needlework. However, the thing is… there are hardly any basic tutorials around. I need the 101 thing. Not the 3,4,5 thing! By that I mean that I need the tutorials systematically. Some of the pages provide tutorial by asking if I want to learn how to do a picot or how to bead. All I want to know is how or where to start and how to go from there. No fear!! Me will do more research. Hopefully… crossing my fingers… it will be an inexpensive hobby (please, please, please!!).

You guys might already know that I’m going off somewhere next month (gosh… its freakishly fast)  so I took some time to browse through the catalogues of the discount stores in Australia such as Kmart and BigW. GUESS WHAT I FOUND!!!

OMG!! Can’t wait to get my hands on those!!! Please let it be cheap, please let it be cheap!!
