My Weekend at Home!
Sunday, May 31, 2009
Being home-sick for too long... my mood took a toll on me and my mum 'decided' on my behalf that I should take a trip home eventhough I would be going back the following week for my study break.

(This will be basically a food post and nothing about the shopping that I did at home. That will be covered during my cousin's wedding as it is inter-related.) So... once I reached home, my mum warned me about the 'gaggle of geese' that my sister invited over. They had just completed their exams and made plans to celebrate it by making sushi!

It was good for a first attempt. They were so proud of their sushis that they kept on arranging and snapping a lot of pictures of the sushi!! These are only two of the many they snapped!

For lunch on Saturday, I made pizza! Well... I instructed most of the time n put on the 'finishing touches' to the pizza. My brother and sister loves to decorate the pizza so I let them do it. This time the pizza was much better as it had twice the cheese that I usually put!

The three very excitable siblings enjoying their self-made pizzas!!

Ah!!! I enjoyed it!! My only regret was that I didn't get to bake this weekend. I bake everytime I come home. But there were just too many things to do and too little to do it. So.... can't wait for Friday to come!!

On a partially different subject. I want to share these photos which were taken right opposite my house.

The End of My Shows
Sunday, May 24, 2009
As of Thursday last week, all of the shows that I've been following has completed their respective seasons.

1. One Tree Hill
The end of season 6 marks the end of Leyton. The actor and actress playing Lucas and Peyton will not be returning to the next season of One Tree Hill. I was hoping that Peyton will not survive the last season due to her complications during pregnancy. But.... she survived.... which makes it an extremely cheesy departure. However, not complaining.... They are my favourite couple after all. Now I'm wondering who'll take over as the leads. (I have a sneaky suspicion that it might be Brooke and Julian though).

2. Grey's AnatomyIsabelle and George will not be returning either! I like George's character. (eventhough he is gay in reality, which is a shame) I didn't like the way Meredith got married to McDreamy.... using post-its?!? How romantic is that? (note the sarcasm please) But the final few minutes was really touching. I literally had goosebumps watching Meredith discover faceless guy to be George. Both of them are exiting this show by dying... which is the total opposite of how Leyton exited One Tree Hill. Haih...

3. Gossip Girl

Nobody's leaving this show as far as I know. Nothing much to say except I LIKE BLAIR AND CHUCK TOGETHER!! I just love the way he admitted his feelings =)!!

4. Hell's Kitchen
I watched this because someone uploaded it. But I'm glad Danny won.... I wanted him to win.

5. American Idol
Ah.... American Idol. Perhaps one of the most controversial finals in 8 seasons. Yes... Adam Lambert did deserve the win but Kris Allen was pretty damn good (and cute) himself. I hope Kara doesn't leave the show cause she gives clearer and more precise opinions compared to the other judges. And she has talent!!.

Am I watching too many shows?? Well... I guess so especially when those users are actively uploading shows on Xsocam. However, thank goodness for the fast-forwarding button! I can finish a 40 minutes show in 15 minutes thanks to that feature. Right now, I'm trying to think of what to watch now that I'm bored and stuck in the hostel now that all my shows have come to an end. Ooh... I know!!! Try studying!! =P

Ps: I'm patiently waiting for So You Think You Can Dance!!

May 18!!
Monday, May 18, 2009
My very last assignment is due today! I'm so glad I finished it in the evening as I hate the feeling of last minute work. You get so frazzled and the work that you produced is just.... well..... last minute.

The process of the assignment to completion created some 'drama' as we(reesh, sarah and me) redid it 2 times!! Plus!! The cpu was kicked by someone(to you-who-kicked-the-cpu: if you are reading this....=P) which caused the monitor to go blank. 20-30 minutes were probably spent on fixing the cpu which finally was working again after she-who-kicked-it fixed it back again. Imagine... .that was our 3rd time doing it! If the cpu did not come back on.... haih... Well, luckily it did.

On Friday, we went over to Sarah's house to continue with our assignment. Well.... probably known as an unproductive day. There was a LOT of talking and we probably did the 'real' thing for only 15 mn. We went over to USJ2 to get their favourite rojak (I bought my favourite kueh! =)) We tapau-ed it and had it in the uni. While I went looking for Navjit, my two extremely lifeless friends started poking my polystyrene box to form the word 'momps' which apparently is my nickname when Reesh was the one who invented the poor fellow.

My journey with my assignment continued at my uncle's place. My work table was EXTREMELY messy.

I couldn't even watch my badminton match because of this assignment succumbing to reports by my uncle and aunt every 5 minutes. Haih.... It's ok. A good thing that I didn't watch as Malaysia lost to China. I'd probably throw a cushion at the men's doubles if I was watching.

Main news is: I FINISHED MY ASSIGNMENT AT 6.30PM ON SUNDAY!
Happy! and relieve that the assignments are done! Hair is in a mess.... but who cares?!

Happy, happy day.... ladies and gentlemen!

Wake-up Call
Thursday, May 14, 2009
I admit that I can be a tincy tinny tiny little ignorant about society. I know the existence of rapist, murderers, snatch-thefts, robbers, flashers, prostitutes (man or woman) and all the other abnormal people in the world. I know they exist. I just never believed that I would experience any of it.

Did I paint a horror story in all your heads? Are you curious about what I experienced? Well... it's not that bad. I just never ever thought that I would meet someone like a GIGOLO on my way to Monash! It's downright amusing that I was approached by a gigolo who asked if I seek some sort of 'excitement' in life. I mean..... are you serious???!!?? When I said I wasn't, I was accused of being closed-minded. Hmm.... interesting. The least he could do is to be good looking. You are seducing women wearing a Mickey Mouse tie and with a face filled with holes?? I repeat.... are you serious??? Haha

It was really a very interesting and unexpected experience. But I was thankful that that dude wasn't any of the other people that I mentioned earlier. I was pretty disgusted with his 'offer' but yet at least he wasn't a mat rempit or some sort. I have been filled with too many sad and terrible cases that had happened around the area and the fact that a guy approached me at 8.45am when all the car shops are closed was scary. Hence, I was thankful, in a way. Of course, I would be more thankful if this incident did not occur at all. However, I can't control such things from happening so all I can do is that.

Dance, Food and Fun....(or not)!
Sunday, May 10, 2009
I have been travelling pretty often to my uncle's place during the weekend and this recent weekend was no exception. So happens, my uncle called me up to inform me about a dinner that I was suppose to attend on Saturday. I really thought it was a dinner dinner which would last for a few hours... 2 hours max. What i wasn't prepared for was a 7pm to 12am DANCE PARTY!! I mean.... with the assignments, submission and presentation taking place next week.....a dance party..... seriously?!? =) However, since my ticket had already been booked, I attended the event wearing my Hong Ki bought stuff, jeans and slippers (not ideal for dancing at all).

My aunt and her dancing friends were especially excited. They brought their dancing shoes and dressed up glitteringly not knowing that the theme for the night was Rodeo. Haha... but only the Royal Selangor Club members knew of it. The invited guests from William and Louisa Dancing Academy were all in their dancing costumes, so it was fine. But imagine the shock we got when we saw cowboys, cowgirls and even red Indians!

Since it was at a reputable club, we had high expectations for the food. When we looked at the menu, it was impressive. For the main course we had a choice of roast tarragon chicken served with spaghetti bolognaise, vegetable lasagna or some kind of fish dish [Note: I preferred chicken so I memorised the name. The fish.... never considered it. Hate fish =P] That was all crap. Table was close to the kitchen but food was carried out past us to the other tables first. By the time it reached us, all that was left was the chicken and lasagna. My aunt is one of those really healthy people who won't enjoy excessive cheese. Neither will I, but I can take it better than her. So I took the lasagna which was NOT GOOD AT ALL! The chicken was hard and dry as well! We had chocolate cake with ice cream drizzled with chocolate sauce for dessert. Haih... Too sweet, didn't enjoy it. We didn't even get our coffee/tea. NEVER MIND!

The main part of this event was of course the dancing. It was an open dance floor in the beginning and the ending of the party. Those people who came were enthusiastic about dancing, I must say. All the old(er) folks were dancing and dancing and dancing. It was interesting. The live two-man band was good. They had a lot of very old songs.... even older than the songs I usually hear. But knowing my love story with oldies, I enjoyed the music a lot. The performances were pretty damn good. I especially love the cha cha danced by two girls.

All in all.... it was ok.... could be better... food-wise. For all of you who are wondering if Rebecca Ng actually danced, well.... I DID!! I went out for the twist and the 'rasa sayang' dance! Take that! I wasn't sitting down all night long =).

I've initially made a decision to start blogging during the holidays in June due to the eventful year that I've been experiencing. However, due to some impressive persuasive skills that my friends have, I've decided to bring forth the 'opening ceremony' of this blog. The creative part of the blog will not be updated till the holidays though. Comments are welcomed, ladies and gentlemen.
