Me and my thoughts again
Monday, May 24, 2010

Exams are coming. They are just around the corner and I’m almost reaching the bend of the road. Hence, study = restlessness. To kill the restlessness, I blog-hop.

Hop

Hop

Hop

Random note: the list of Nuffnang winners include Kennysia, Xia Xue and Joanne Peh’s blog. And I read their blogs, not religiously, just occasionally when boredom kicks in. I can’t help but think why do blog readers love to read blogs that talk about things like that? Don’t get me wrong, they are entertaining to read. ENTERTAINING. Full of lame jokes, commercials, fashion, la di dums… but NOT much thoughts.

Joanne Peh, the winner for best celebrity blog. She blogs about travelling, fashion, what she does, what she buys, what she sees. From my POV, its what she sees on the surface and not anything further. Have you tried reading Elvin Ng’s blog? Or Jeanette Aw for that matter. Elvin Ng might be the stiffest and unnatural actor that you might meet, but I don’t see him as an actor when I read his blog.

Life is unfair. Let’s face it. I no longer insist that the world should be fair and just and equal. My world view has changed. Life is fair only when you recognise that it is unfair and accept that it is unfair. (Elvin Ng)

we just need to pull ourselves out of everything to understand normalcy..
but it comes a point in time when you need to just break it.. break boundaries.. do something you've never imagined you would.. that's where i'm heading.. i hope.. (Jeanette Aw)

Kennysia and Xia Xue, winners of certain blog categories. I like how witty and funny Kenny Sia is. And I enjoy reading his blog. But what it is lacking is a bit of depth. Xia Xue… I don’t think explanation is needed here. I can just sum up her blog in a 3 words: plastic, Plastic, PLASTIC. Have you tried reading Marcky? I accidentally discovered his blog through facebook. He is witty, just like Kenny Sia. But the difference is, his posts reflects upon life so much more. . One of my favourite post of his is entitled ‘Dancing in the Rain’.

We seek the sunshine, but down comes the rain. We sit in our shelters, hoping for the sun to shine again. We think the sunshine will bring us happiness. We waste our lives waiting for the sun to shine, when we really should be going out and dancing in the rain. (Marcky)

Maybe I’m bias. I love reading posts where there are some meaning to it. I love reading posts which I can relate to. I love reading posts that stimulate my thinking. I love posts that are simply… poetic and beautifully written.

All those entertainment blogs are fun. But like I said, lacks depth. Ah… wth, I’m just a 40 yr old woman who is trapped in a 20/21 yr old body. I have weird, old-ish preferences for stuff that reflects upon life. Blogs like Kennysia, Xia Xue and others are just what those ‘kids’ prefer and I have nothing against them. I read them once in a while, but I just don’t find it inspirational. And I do not know why SOOOOOOO many people are flocking to their blogs when there are other blogs with thoughts… proper thoughts. Ok, maybe I do. But, erm, … Forget about it. I just like those other type of blogs. DON’T JUDGE! =P. I’m old, I know, you don’t need to rub it in!! Haha

21 May:

Polo bun & Another savoury bun (Ham/Bacon and Cheese) were attempted using PROPER ingredients

I slept early that day.

22 May:

Woke up at 7am, did my notes for law before I decided to take a shower and wash up. I was feeling squeaky clean and extremely refreshed. I took out my $0.99 full cream milk (note the $0.99 cause I got it for half price =D. But it came with a price of another kind: early expiry date =( argh… who cares???? I’ll just stuff myself with milk for the next few days), poured a full cup, took out one polo bun and a bacon and cheese bun and heated it all up in the microwave oven. Added my milo into my warm milk so that it dissolved and I get chocolate milk =D.

I took it to my room, and it felt GOOOOOOOOD!

Which part of it was good, you may ask, as it seemed like a normal process like no other. It was 9am when I finished preparing my breakfast, I came into my room, the sun was shining through my window, on my table (I decided that I like this table position best). I put my plate and my cup on my table. I didn’t have to rush for anything because there wasn’t class or a schedule laid out for the morning. I could just take my own sweet little time and enjoy the morning. Did I mention that I was squeaky clean???

I took one sip of my milk and it was good. I took one bite of my bacon bun and it was good. How satisfying was that!!!

What spoilt it all was the fact that one cup of milk was too much for me and two buns were in fact, too filling for me. Now, after finishing one cup of milk and one bun, I am FULL. There’s one more bun sitting on the plate near the window and I have no intention of eating it anytime soon. Sheesh… if only I had the foresight, I would have stuck to my half cup of milk and only heat up one bun. I don’t like the feeling of being full on a wonderful, relaxing morning and when I’m squeaky clean.

Ahh…. but the first part of my breakfast was good =DDD

Me likeeeeyyyyyy
