George Bernard Shaw, the writer of Pygmalion, says that 'there is no love sincerer than the love of food'. And I do agree with that sometimes. They are known as comfort food in times of stress or when one is depress, sad and angry.
During my SwotVac, I found some time to make some stuff to 'release' my stress and forget about my exams.
Spaghetti done by me n lil sis! Parents took the maid and abandoned us three to work and we had to prepare our own lunch. We wanted to be 'a bit' adventurous and hence, the spaghetti! After months of searching for the perfect chocolate chip recipe, I found it in a food blog. Other than the amount of sugar needed in the recipe, which I cut down by half, it not only satisfy my taste buds, everybody in the family loved it! This is my very own comfort food during the exams. Haha!!
This raspberry shortcake was a co-effort by me and my mum and IT WAS GOOD!! The pastry was awesome and not too sweet. It just fitted the Ngs' tastebuds. It probably does not look that way but it certainly tastes really really good. Eat it to believe it!Right after I came back for my holidays, my mum demanded something baked from me and it was between choco brownie and apple pie. I decided to do apple pie and it's my 2nd attempt on it. Picture shows my maiden effort on the apple pie during Chinese New Year. This is another recipe which I found on another food blog. It's a really good recipe. The pastry was just nice and the feeling was good too. Used the leftover dough to make cookies!!

Today, 30 June 2009, I attempted my very first egg tart. Ok... confession time. It's egg tart in a muffin case and not the tart mould, so it might not look like an egg tart. This, however, is still under works. It does not taste bad but neither is it spectacular. My mum feels that the recipe omitted or cut down on some of the ingredients. Hence, I'm on a lookout for other better recipes!
(NOT A FAILED PROJECT =)! Everything turned out well except for the ingredients in the recipe)

Egg tarts in the morning, sushi in the afternoon. Twas the 2nd attempt for my sis, but maiden effort from me. I liked it! Nothing to more to say about it =)! Haha!!
